Pedigree Project

I am really excited to get to grade your pedigree projects. They look amazing and I can tell how much work you all put into them! If you would like to see how you will be graded, you can check out the rubric. I will have these back to you as soon as I can, but please be patient as I have 3 classes turning these projects in to me.

Family Interview Assignment

Students have been given a Family Interview Assignment. They will be responsible for asking their family members a few questions about some traits that they have or do not have. I understand that there are family circumstances that might make this assignment difficult. I have asked that students try their best to interview everyone required and get as much information as possible. For family members that may have passed away, I have encouraged students to talk to family members who remember and to get pictures when possible. Students will not lose points if they are not able to get all of the information for every family member, I just ask that they try their best.

Here are some websites to look at if you have a greater interest in dominant traits.

Numerous Examples

Widow's Peak and Attached Ear Lobes

Cell Part Project Rubric

All students should have received a smiley face stamp as approval for the item they will be bringing to represent their cell part. That sheet (with the stamp) will be collected after the presentation on Wednesday. To view the rubric, click here. Thank you so much for bringing all materials in on time for the presentation.

Cell Part Project for the Week of Aug. 31

We will be working on cell parts on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. You have chosen your group, and you will be responsible for teaching the rest of the class about the cell part you have been assigned. You will need to know the job of the cell part, the appearance of the cell part, and you will need to decided what edible item you will use in a cell model. (For example, Miss Cox is responsible for the chloroplast for each group, so she will be bringing in Jello (gelatina) to use in the model. You can click here for the Cell Part Project expectations.
